This is a family led forum that offers support, resources and campaigning for people detained in assessment and treatment units; secure hospitals; locked rehab units.
The aim is for the people to be released from detention into a home of their choosing in their community.
I am a Life Planning Facilitator; that means I help people and those that know them well think together about what they want and need for a good life. Life Planning is not rocket science! It's the most sensible and common sense way of helping a person and their loved ones think about the future and can be a really useful way of putting together a 'service specification' (I'm not always happy with this term however, in its loosest form it means all the things including a house, help either paid or unpaid, and everything else that might be needed to get a person a good life!) that can then be used to get the right people and things on board to make things happen. I attach some info that I send out to Families to explain how to prepare for a Life Planning day and there is also preparation info for the person and other people attending. What do you think?
