This is a family led forum that offers support, resources and campaigning for people detained in assessment and treatment units; secure hospitals; locked rehab units.
The aim is for the people to be released from detention into a home of their choosing in their community.
Here is the link to the Code. Chapter 20 is particularly relevant for people with autism. It says that people with autism don't usually benefit from being in ATUs and similar hospitals. If they do have to be admitted, it should be with specialist care and for as short a period as possible. The Code is statutory guidance for LAs, doctors and AMHPs. So no excuses really!
